Naivety and the Mother Earth
Are many of us so naive as to believe that every act of natural disaster is some type of punishment, meant to teach humanity a lesson? The only punishment we humans receive is by our own hand. Pollution caused by numerous vehicles, outlandish factory flues, and the desimation of natural forests only service to punish ourselves with lack of fresh air and clean water. The earth doesn't quake to punish us, the earth quakes because it's constantly moving, like a ship on the sea. The land on which we live is not a solid piece, but pieces floating on a molten sea, constantly bumping into each other. It's natural, not punishing. Let us please stop being so naive and blaming every natural disaster as a punishment for our own actions. If we're gonna die as a species, it will be by our own hand, not natures.
