Time to Experiment!!

I'm trying out yet another experiment, however this one is more chemistry than construction :D. I'm attempting to make Essential Oils.

Now, a few years ago I tried making my own oils, but it didn't turn out too well (I think it was perhaps because I didn't use the right ingredients). After a few years, I decided to get off my butt and try again (what's the old saying? When you fall off the horse, get right back up and try again?)

I am attempting to make a Clove oil. I used roughly about 1/4 cup olive oil and about 1-2 tablespoons of cloves. I poured the oil into my mortar and pestle and added the cloves, and crushed them together. I after about 5-10 mins of crushing, I could start smelling the scent of cloves. I may however have to add more cloves, but that's just details.

I got the instructions from a site I sometimes go to for information: Blessed Be Online Wiccan Resource. Normally, instructions I have found online simply say to put the herbs in oil and let it sit for weeks. I think that was another part of my problem the first time around...the waiting period made me forget about them. With this recipe, I still have to wait, but I don't have to wait weeks, only about 4 days.
