I think I've covered this topic before, but I want to come back to it.
I want to ask...How does one NOT hide being a Witch? As far as I know, Witches of today (or really any time) don't really have any tell-tale signs that they ARE a Witch. Unless you go with a more stereotypical view like frizzy, poofy hair, outlandish clothing, heavy makeup (not just black goth, but bright colors too, sometimes looking like Mimi on "The Drew Carey Show"), overburdened with jewelry, etc. But that's not my style, nor is it the style of EVERY Witch out there, hence stereotypical.
How does one NOT hide being a Witch? I mean, come on, is it really necessary to wear every pagan symbol just to state that you're a Witch? Is it necessary to state so every time the opportunity presents itself? Like I don't understand why there is a need to NOT hide being a Witch (ok, not hide, but you know what I mean).
Like you don't see every Christians parading around carrying a bible and covered in crosses declaring at every opportunity that they're Christian (fanaticals and fundamentalists, perhaps, but I KNOW not every Christian does this). So why must a Witch declare whenever the opportunity arises? What ever happened to keeping to oneself their beliefs and keeping them private?
Welcome to my blog. Enjoy a warm cup of tea and sit for a spell.

YES! I'm so with you on this. I am a pagan and a practicing witch. I don't "look" like it from what i have been told. I'm a single mom with tons of bills, I don't have time look the part. Seriously, people need to reflect on what the ideas they send out to universe.
ReplyDeleteNor do I. Not one thing on me screams "Witch". I wear a crystal pendant, and my prayer beads look like a simplistic bracelet (I've even received compliments on it).
ReplyDeleteThere are no tell tale signs one is a Witch, so I don't understand how one can "Hide" being a Witch, when there isn't anything to hide in the first place.
Thank you very much for your comment.
