I'm so tired of trying to convey my intention or opinion in forums without appearing to give off a certain type of attitude. I can try writing in one way, and it STILL is taken the wrong way.
Well, I'm done trying to sugar coat everything just to avoid stepping on toes. I'm just as bitchy as the next person in the forum trying to convey my opinion only to have someone jump at me like a hungry wolf, trying to make me look like a novice they're trying to "straighten out".
I go to a question or thread in a forum asking a question or trying to start some sort of discussion, I input my feelings, opinions, whatever, and I get the third degree..."Oh you should try re-wording what you have to say, you give off an "us vs. them" attitude".
Well, sorry. If that's the way you took it, it's not my problem. Perhaps you have the problem in misinterpreting what's said in a forum, especially when it's not intended to be condescending or implying something that isn't there. I'm just stating my opinion of which I AM entitled to. If you don't like what I have to say, there's no law saying you HAVE to read what I say, much less like or agree with it.

...Why is it that people must feel the need to point out implied (however unintentional) condescension or "poor attitude" all the time to people? Is the thread topic that boring that they feel the need to start nit-picking over possible attitude in a respondent's post?
In all honesty, I'm not sure why it bothers me so much. Probably because I'm tired of having my posts automatically assumed to give off arrogance or whatever when it's not my intention nor implication. It's been going on for years.
Welcome to my blog. Enjoy a warm cup of tea and sit for a spell.

Yes, yes and yes. I experience the same thing on the web. Most of the time I really think people enjoy hiding behind the anonymity of the internet and go on their ego trips. It's pretty sad. Some people cannot see through their biases or ineducation. Cannot look upon the opinions of others with an open mind. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. It's sad when people let ego and labels define them. It's because of such things, our world is so deplorable. Thanks for your input.
