Well, so far I've watched all episodes of "Under the Dome" and I have to say I'm quite disappointed (though I shouldn't be, hollywood is well known for butchering stories when they turn them into movies). Trying to explain whats happening in the show to my husband (who never read the book) is impossible for the simple fact that it's nothing like the book, except for the names of many of the characters and the fact that a town called "Chester's Mill" is under a transparent dome.
I only continue to watch the show because my husband is so interested. I'm almost sorry I got him into it. If he had read the book, he probably also would want to turn it off. The last episode I watched introduced a character that wasn't in the book, so it's very confusing. My husband asks who she is and I have to tell him "I have no idea, she wasn't in the book". As well, many characters remain who should have died a long time ago.
It's fairly disappointing. I was really hoping they'd stick as close as they could to the book, but unfortunately it's only coincidental that it's the same town's name under a dome...the story line has changed dramatically. Yup, very disappointed.
I warned you from the get-go lol Hollywood destroys good books in attempts to translate them to film
ReplyDeletelol I know, I know, I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt...but I didn't think they'd screw it up THIS badly lol. Oh well.
