"Satanic" Sacred Texts

I haven't touched on the subject of Satanism since I have created my blog, so I think it's time I started, seeing as it can be considered a Pagan path (depending on who you talk to and how the individual sees following the Satanic religion).

Once in a while I will follow up on suggested sites from other people, just to satisfy my curiosity on how people follow the religion. I stumbled upon the "11 Satanic Rules" by which (I suppose) Satanists follow. A lot of the rules make a LOT of sense (particular to me), however there are at least 2 rules that I have some MAJOR issues with.

#4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy
I don't see how this resolves any type of issue. If you treat someone cruelly and without mercy, does this not, first of all, violate their first rule of #1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked, and secondly, does this not reflect on how you wish to be treated? This shows just as much hubrus as the individual who is annoying you. If one is in your "lair" and is annoying you, ask them to leave. It's not that difficult, and as the saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. What this phrase is saying is you are more successful with a kind word, than a harsh tongue.

#11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.
Again, what does this solve? Pick a fight because someone's bothering you? No! Walk away. There is nothing stopping YOU from walking away from the situation.

There are Oh So Many ways to solve an issue than being confrontational with someone who is distruptive. It's because of "rules" such as these (Please note, I'm not basing the entire religion on these two rules, there are other reasons) that make me realize that Satanism is not for me. They feel it necessary to be harsh when there is no need. Besides, these two statements are a clear contradiction to what they "Strive" for which is to "Do unto others as they do unto you"...a statement that can be found under "Solipsism" on the Church of Satan website. What "Do unto others as they do unto you" means is, if you want to be treated with respect, treat others with respect. If you destroy someone who is bothering you, that gives them the right to destroy you right back. If you treat someone with cruelty and without mercy, that gives them the right to treat you with cruelty and without mercy as well. How does this create a better world? I don't understand.
