It ticks me off when someone has such a superiority complex regarding their belief systems, particularly those who follow Wicca, claiming how Wicca is done one way and only this way and no way else, meanwhile being totally ignorant of what Wicca actually was in the beginning. Creating a false beginning does no one any favors, perhaps some people need to go back and re-research the beginnings of their belief systems (I do believe this is why Christianity is no longer practiced the way it was intended).
Coming up with an elitist attitude towards Wicca and making such wild claims that Wicca is far better than Witchcraft because, as we all know, Witchcraft is nothing more than silly nonsense and Wicca is far more legitimate (note dripping sarcasm), even though it's only about 60-70 years old and was created by an English civil servant who hung on the word of an anthropologist whose theories were debunked decades ago...but who am I to put down those who have such delusional ideas about a religion AND a practice (particularly ones they don't even practice)? I'm but a lowly Witch who practices a bunch of nonsense, involving silly "new aged" things like correspondences, herb use, stone and gem crafts, candle work, etc. It's not like these things have been around for centuries...Oh Wait...THEY HAVE!!
The practice of using herbs to bring about desired effects has been used for centuries. It may not be directly described as Witchcraft (particularly by the users of the period), but was used in a craft nonetheless, and is no more nonsense now as it was then. Where do people come off being so superior towards something they don't even practice? Apparently they prefer living in their little holes, believing every little thing they're spoon fed, like how Wicca never involved spell work (pah, tell Gardner that), or how Wicca doesn't always employ the use of colors and such within a ritualistic sense
Some people spend all their time defending their religion that they lose sight of what their religion actually is and entails. I feel sorry for those who have lost that sight and try to pass off their heir of superiority, meanwhile looking like an idiot. I hope whatever deity they believe in helps them to regain that sight so they can stop this idiotic elitist attitude towards something they don't know anything about.
(There have been times when I'll defend Wicca as not focusing on spell work, but I'm not so naive as to believe not all Wiccans practice it. There are indeed numerous Wiccans who practice spell work and Witchcraft and can perfectly well adapt it to their Wiccan practices and this is NOT a crime! I'm sorry if there are people out there who view it that way. These types of people need to "get off their high horse already, they're not so superior". Wicca sometimes involves Witchcraft (though the two are not one in the same), get over it already!)
