What Would You Say??

What would you say,

If I were to say,

I wanted to be a Witch for a Day?

Would all of you

Before thinking it through

Respond with fear like many may do?

Would all of you see

That I want to be

Something that makes ME happy?

Would all of you know

or be willing to grow

Or would you all find something SHARP to throw

Would all of you see

That this path to me

Can finally allow me to be free?

What WOULD you say,

If I were to say,

I wanted to be a Witch for a Day?

Would you tell me no

Or tell me to go

Or that this is something that I do not know

Would you call me "silly"

Or be rather chilly

or plain and simply laugh at me?

Would you all know

That it hurts me to show

That this is a path I truly do know

Would you understand

That this wasn't planned

And that MY knowledge is ready to expand

YOU will now see

That this path is for me

and that I deserve to be happy

And for you to say no

or tell me to grow

will cause only you more grief and more woe

My path is for me

Not you, but me

to walk alone happily

That this path I walk

is not for you to mock

is also not yours for you to block.

What I would say

Is I am me

And I'm now happy

And would love for you to be happy for me!!
