Day 15: Let's do a recipe

Ok, let's add some Witchy-ness to this, mmk? Seeing as I haven't talked much Witchy-ness lately, lets add some to this post.

The biggest trouble I've had since starting this program, was finding something that would keep me filled until my "supper". I'd tried sandwiches, wraps, etc, and nothing kept me satisfied or filled. I always ended up really hungry come 5:00. I'm always on the look out for something filling, and I may have found one.

I calculated this recipe all out, so I know what's in it.

Potato and Bacon Soup
Total Calories: 305

6 small potatos (the small ones that come in a baggie...about 4 is about 80 calories, so times that by 2 you
                        get 160, roughly)

2 strips Turkey bacon (about 70 calories)
1/4 onion (about 6 calories)
2 cloves garlic (about 8 calories)
1/2 cup milk (about 61 calories)
salt and pepper (dash each)
sprinkle parsley (0 calories)

In a pot, place small potatos, cubed, boil until tender. Meanwhile, sautee onions and garlic in a pan for a few minutes (careful not to burn them). Put turkey bacon in microwave on a piece of paper towel for about 2 mins. Once potatos are tender, add onions and garlic to the pot. Turn down the pot to about medium to medium-low. Mash or cut up the potatos smaller (not too small, you don't want mush). Crumble up the bacon and sprinkle it into the pot. Add the milk, a bit of salt and pepper (not too much) and stir it all. Allow it to come to a boil, and remove from stove. Pour into a soup bowl. Sprinkle with parsley, and serve.
(Serves 1)

Now, I had this with half a pita, 1 small thing of yogurt and an apple, and altogether it came to 578 calories.

Now...you're wondering...where's the Witchy part???
Well, while you're creating your soup...keep thinking of losing weight. Enchant a few words over the pot; chant while you're cutting up the potatos, onions and garlic. Visualize having a healthy lunch, and see yourself as the size you want. Do what you need to do to add a little witchyness to your meal. Even afterwards you could light a candle and thank the Goddess (should you honor one) for a nutritious meal, and health and happiness. It's really good!!!
