I received a comment on my blog here by "Rumail" inquiring about practice. Seeing as it's kind of hard for one to go rifling through posts to find the answer to the question, I will post my response in a blog post for him/her to see it better.
Now, this is what he/she asked of me (and I apologize if you wanted it to remain private, but I figured it would be easier for you to find the answer to your question, as well, this may help others who are wondering the same as you.)
"Hi, this is all so confusing, until like a day ago, I thought there wasn't such thing "Magick" but then I came accross some books on google, then this was followed by positive reviews about the books. I googl'd this stuff and came accross your answer on Yahoo Answers, which seemed pretty convincing. Could you please tell me, that when we talk about magick and rituals and spells, to what extent magick can be used. I mean what can be achieved by it? And are those symbols on your blog not supposed to be evil(Came accross em on some occult articles/videos)? My apologies if you find anything rude in my comment, I'm just so curious since this is all new for me.
Good day Rumail, I hope this helps you understand a bit better. If you have follow up questions, please don't hesitate to ask, and I will try my best to answer them.
Now, many people have the wrong idea about what magic can do. People think that it can be used to force people to do things against their will (For example, something very popular...Love Spells). While it can make someone love you, there are a number of consequences...1) it can backfire and that person can become obsessive, or 2)the person wouldn't really love you and you wouldn't appreciate them as much as if they really loved you for you.
Magic also cannot transform the physical. For example, magic cannot change your hair/eye color, or make you lose lots of weight in a short period of time, etc...
Magic should be used as a motivator and affirmation to achieve your goals faster. The spellwork can be used to boost the energetic flows to your goals.
Magic can also work to gain you practical things but one must take into consideration where these "things" are coming from. If you ask for money to pay your bills, who's losing that money because it is being taken from someone else...perhaps someone who needs it more...so one shouldn't be greedy. One should also take a moment to reflect on if it's really necessary to use magic to gain what you need/want. Is it possible to get what you want on a more practical level, in a mundane way?
One also shouldn't expect the impossible to appear magically in front of you, then become disappointed when it doesn't. One should use a bit of common sense before using magic. If you know in the back of your mind that something isn't going to work, why bother trying only to become disappointed in learning what you already knew...so don't go trying a spell you find online that says "GUARANTEED: Leviation Spell" and expect that you're going make things float in the air with your mind. In fact, don't use spells you find online at all. When you're starting out, you shouldn't be anywhere near spell work until you have learned at least the basics of magical work (learning how to prepare yourself and area for practice, etc). Would you expect to make a world class meal for a hundred people with no experience in cooking (even for yourself) to begin with? I think not :D
Now, as for the symbol that appear on my site, the Pentacle. It is a rather common "rumor" that it's a symbol of satan or demonic forces. Personally I do not believe in Satan or demons, much less be in league wth them.
No. it's not a demonic symbol associated with Satan or the devil or anything like that. As stated, that's rumor. People only say it's a satanic symbol because they fear the people who use it. Fear can cause people to do some crazy and silly things and believe even crazier and sillier things. Witches are not evil, nor were they ever. They just practiced in ways that many thought was odd...and odd practices were feared. Im not going to get into the whole deal about what the church did to Witches because that's common knowledge and I've repeated it at nauseum, so if you want you can float through my blog and see, or google it.
It's merely a symbol of protection and a symbol of the physical elements (earth, air, fire, water, and Spirit) among some other meanings. All it really is, is a star and a circle. Why people get their panties in a knot over a star is beyond me. I mean, Jesus was born under a star, not to mention the fact that early century churches displayed pentgrams/cles on their walls and can still be seen to this day.
Im not quite sure what else I can say on this matter without knowing what else it is you would like to know, but I hope I helped you to better understand magic a bit more. As I said, if you have any more questions, please go ahead and ask and I can only do my best to answer or direct you to where you can learn more.
Thank you for your inquiries.
