My Take on Christianity

It may appear on my blog here that I have some animosity towards Christianity. This is obviously an erroneous assumption. I have animosity towards those who have a problem with my craft, not the religion itself. Yes I see some errors in some portions of the religion and I tend to point them out, but I also see errors in portions of all religions. The reason it seems like I pick on Christianity alone is because its the one religion I know more about, seeing as I attended Catholic school my whole life as well as attended church for quite a while.

I really have no problems with the religion. As I see it, if it were followed the way it was meant to be followed and intended it probably would be going the way of Paganism today (in that the followers are (fairly) respectful towards each other and each other's branch of pagan practice). I also have no problems with Jesus either. I view Jesus as a great teacher with great values and lessons that people seem to have twisted to suit their own personal agenda. Jesus' view on loving one's neighbor was not meant to be taken as "love your neighbor, so long as they believe exactly as you do". It was meant to love your neighbor regardless of what they believe.

I think its wonderful that people find so much comfort in their religion. I believe everyone should feel comfortable in their **chosen** religion, free from harassment, defamation, insult, etc. My husband remains a faithful Catholic, and I see how it makes him happy to believe in such a way. I tried to remain a Catholic for as long as I could, but I personally could not get any answers from it regarding certain aspects in my life (thus, my reason for choosing the path I am on). I feel my path has given me the answers I needed to the issues I had previously, and am now happy in my chosen path.

I have no qualms with Christianity as a religion. But once bigoted people start spewing their lines about how I *need* Jesus in my life, just turns me off. Jesus said "go out and proclaim the good news". He didn't mean go out and condemn people to hell if they don't believe in him...thats not their Job...that's God's job. God doesn't need people doing his job for him. Jesus said go tell people about him and about God and how they can help people. I find it interesting how all these self-righteous people go around saying their lines thinking that their attitudes is what's gonna get them into heaven. I'd love to see their faces when they get to their pearly gates and find they're denied access for not "loving their neighbor" but instead doing God's job for him.

Christianity has some good basis points, but there's too much contradictory information in it that I can't follow it anymore.

  1. Hi, this is all so confusing, until like a day ago, I thought there wasn't such thing "Magick" but then I came accross some books on google, then this was followed by positive reviews about the books. I googl'd this stuff and came accross your answer on Yahoo Answers, which seemed pretty convincing. Could you please tell me, that when we talk about magick and rituals and spells, to what extent magick can be used. I mean what can be achieved by it? And are those symbols on your blog not supposed to be evil(Came accross em on some occult articles/videos)? My apologies if you find anything rude in my comment, I'm just so curious since this is all new for me.
