"True"

What is "True". What does this word mean? It seems that the meaning of the word "True" has been lost among so many these days, and the mere sight of the word is enough now to give me a headache.

There are so many people out there claiming that their way is the "True" way, and everyone else is playing this plastic fantasy nonsense without actually looking at what people are doing (reek of fundamentalist Christian attitude a bit, much?)

I say this because I encountered, not one, but TWO blog posts about the "True" nature of something, and that all else is false.

The first post is by this young woman (I assume she's young, considering the naivety of her posts (either that or she's incredibly ignorant)) details what SHE believes is TRUE Satanism. That it's "Pre-Christian" in origins, that Jesus never existed, and the idea of him is "Stolen" from Egyptian and other belief systems. (I also strongly suspect that many of her "posts" is just regurgitated nonsense she copied and pasted to her posts without FULLY reading them).

For one thing, there being similarities about something and something being outright stolen are two different things. Now, I've never seen any definitive proof that there was any such person as Jesus, nor do I believe he was some sort of God figure, but I DO believe he was a radical, with some interesting points he made across. But there's no reason to call people outright liars, ESPECIALLY when they themselves have no definitive proof for or against such existence.

For another thing, there is absolutely NO proof WHATSOEVER that Satanism existed pre-Christianity. The belief in a being known as "Lucifer"? Perhaps, but that does NOT mean Satanism existed before Christianity. Lucifer was believed to be something completely different from that of Satan.

The second post is her claiming their way of "magical" pracitce is true simply because it's in a "darker" form. Magic is magic. To call it black or white makes as much sense as calling a knife black or white (other than from the color of it's handle). It's not true because it stabs someone and false because it chops food, nor is magic true because it's "black" and false because it's "white". AND...to color code it so naively, is just childish to begin with. You do what you want with it...that doesn't make it inherently black or white, it makes it neutral until YOU place intent. That would mean YOU are working black intent or white intent, not black magic or white magic.

Chaos magic, Satanism, LHP's, "Dark Worship" are no more "true" practices than simple Witchcraft. Just because they're true to you doesn't mean they're not true to someone else, simply because we don't feel the need to be so harsh to other people. Sorry, but I believe in doing unto others. If someone did something nice for me, I'll do something nice in return, however if someone were to do something unpleasant to me, better believe they'll receive it in return (I was going to go off on a big tangent about the whole incompatibility of "cause and effect" and the "rule of three", but I lost my train of thought lol). I'm not about to embrace something I believe to be completely made up and worshiped simply because some people feel rebellious to certain belief systems, just to make my practices "acceptable" to someone else. Sorry, but isn't that kind of a "Pascal's Wager" kind of thing? Believe just in case? I CAN"T believe in Satan because I think this idea is about as ridiculous as believing Spongebob is God of the Sea.

Don't piss on my shoe and tell me it's raining, and don't make shit up just to justify your practices. I could care less what you do, but don't tell me my practices aren't true simply because they don't "mesh" with yours.
